Family office investors are following US hotel investor Gencom across the Atlantic, as Miami-based White Bridge Capital and its international network of private investors and family offices invest in Gencom's acquisition of Rosewood London.

The 308-key luxury hotel occupies a Grade II-listed 1912 building at 252 High Holborn in Central London. Gencom, a US-based firm that owns and develops luxury real estate around the world, led the acquisition. White Bridge Capital also supported Gencom on the acquisition financing, which was provided by HSBC and Santander.

A first step beyond the Americas

Tommy Campbell, founder and chief executive of White Bridge Capital, said the firm was proud to invest in one of the world's premier luxury hotels, and pointed to Gencom's more than 40-year track record with landmark hospitality assets. He described the deal as an important step for White Bridge as it extends its platform beyond the Americas and continues to give its family office partners access to opportunities alongside leading sponsors.

Regina Garcia Handal, the firm's co-founder and chief investment officer, said White Bridge sees London as one of the world's most attractive and enduring luxury hospitality markets, supported by international leisure demand, a strong corporate base and year-round cultural and sporting events. She added that the hotel's location between the West End and the City gives the firm's partners a long-term stake in a landmark asset in one of the world's most established hotel markets.

The asset

Rosewood London sits close to Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House, the British Museum and Somerset House. It was comprehensively transformed between 2011 and 2014 by design firm Tony Chi Studios and was ranked 56th in The 50's list of the world's best hotels for 2026. Its 308 rooms include 44 suites, and its food and drink offering includes the Holborn Dining Room, Scarfes Bar, the Gin Bar and the Mirror Room.

White Bridge Capital is a private real estate investment and lending advisory firm that partners with international family offices and sponsors on real estate opportunities across the United States and other key markets. The deal further strengthens its partnership with Gencom, which follows their recent acquisition of the InterContinental Miami. Gencom has $7 billion in assets under management and under development.

For family offices, the deal shows sponsor-led co-investment in trophy hotels moving from US gateway cities into London.
