Seasoned banker Sung June Hwang, a long-time Credit Suisse executive, has joined Korean multi-family office Alder Investments as vice chair.

According to his recent LinkedIn announcement, Hwang will be central to Alder’s strategy of strengthening its private wealth management offering for ultra-high-net-worth families and entrepreneurs in Asia. His appointment signals Alder’s intent to compete more aggressively in the bespoke advisory and investment space.

Hwang brings deep regional and global experience. Over the course of more than a decade at Credit Suisse, he held senior leadership positions, most recently serving as Apac head of products and solutions within the bank’s wealth division in Hong Kong. Earlier, he also led Apac equities distribution. His two tenures at the Swiss bank were separated by a spell as CEO and global head of equities, Hong Kong at Samsung Securities.

Most recently, Hwang was CEO of Atlas Growth Acquisition, a role that added further depth to his experience in capital markets and cross-border finance.

By stepping into this new role at Alder, Hwang is expected to help the firm sharpen its edge in servicing complex family wealth structures, blending his investment banking background with Alder’s multi-family office model.
